This session is a review of Susi Baerentzen’s book “The Effectiveness of General Anti-Avoidance Rules”. It will include a historical backdrop, case studies and conceptual guidelines for assessing effectiveness of a GAAR, with added Canadian perspectives and updates from Sarah Chiu.
