Women of IFA Network of the Netherlands New Year's Seminar

Following the pandemic and a successful IFA European Region Conference in Amsterdam in July 2023 organized by our branch, the Women of IFA Network (WIN) of the Netherlands is pleased to revive its long-standing WIN New Year's Seminar tradition. We are delighted to invite you to join our seminar that will cover a topic of ever-increasing interest: "Shifting geopolitical panels, intensified competition and a rapidly de-globalising world: The role of Tax and Technology". 

The seminar will start with a keynote speech from Marlies de Ruiter, Partner and Global International Tax Services Policy Leader, EY on the subject. She will then be joined for a lively panel discussion by: 

• Sezen Tas, Deputy Director-General, Netherlands Tax Administration
• Angelique Beek - van Doremaele, Director Tax Affairs, ASML 
• Fleur Marcus, Tax Lead, Versuni (Philips Domestic Appliances)

The seminar will cover inter alia the following items: 

• What are the global megatrends and how do they influence policymaking at a local, regional and global level?
• What is the role of the use and generation of technology in shaping local, regional and global competition?
• Are global/regional rules fit for purpose in a world that is becoming increasingly locally focused?
• How are the key international and European tax policy setters, i.e., the OECD, UN and European Commission, reacting to this shifting landscape? Are recent legislative tax initiatives, such as Pillars 1 and 2, BEFIT and the TP directive, reflective of their reaction?
• How are tax administrations and businesses affected by these changes? 
• What are the possible interactions between tax and technology from a policy and practical perspective as a possible response to this changing landscape?

Subsequently, Ingrid van de Pol-Mensing, Co-Founder, Uncover, will give a presentation on female entrepreneurship and the use of technology in the legal service sector.
