Phishing and Scam Email Alert

13 February 2025

Dear IFA Members and Visitors,
We have recently received reports of phishing and scam emails falsely claiming to be from IFA representatives or the Secretariat. These emails often contain suspicious attachments or links. Please do not open these emails or any attachments.
Important tips to protect yourself:
Always verify the sender’s email address. Scammers may use email addresses that look similar to official ones, but they are not identical. Be cautious of emails from addresses like “[email protected]” or other slight variations. Trust business emails with the correct domain extensions. For the Secretariat, it should be “ifa.nl,” and for representatives, it should reflect their company or firm name. If in doubt, contact the person directly using their official email.
Watch out for unusual tone or language. If the email’s tone or wording seems off or inconsistent with what you would expect, it’s a red flag.
Be cautious of suspicious designs and links. Scammers may replicate the design of newsletters or even mimic website buttons (like Dropbox) to trick you into clicking dangerous links. Do not trust them. If you receive any suspicious emails or have concerns, please contact us immediately for confirmation. Stay safe and vigilant!
