The IFA UAE meeting in June is as always combined with a tax technical discussion. Recent international tax developments on both sides of the Atlantic are pointing to strongly increasing support of the OECD BEPS Pillars 1 and 2 (global minimum tax). Apart from the (crucial) support from the US for these far-reaching BEPS 2.0 initiatives, we may also see the G7 further confirming their support later this week. The ultimate adoption and implementation of the Pillars 1 and 2 initiatives will greatly impact the playing field of international taxation. Tax professionals in the region should try to understand what this means for regional and international businesses, and for potential changes to regional tax regimes. We have excellent speakers lined up for this discussion and with the usual Q&A from members, this promises to be a very interesting session.
